Центърът за върхови постижения по водород към Тракийския университет в Стара Загора, създаден по проекта Green Innovations in Hydrogen for Sustainable Energy Transition (H2Start – GA 101136692), финансиран по програма Horizon Europe, търси изследовател по твърдотелна електрохимия (горивни клетки и електролизьори) за своя екип в Тестовия център.
About the Role
As a Scientist in the Test Center, you will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced testing methodologies for materials and components used in fuel cells and electrolysers, with a strong focus on solid-state electrochemistry.
You will support experimental activities, data analysis, and laboratory operations, working closely with senior researchers and engineers. This role provides excellent opportunities for skill development, international collaboration, and scientific growth.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Testing Activities
- Conduct experimental work in solid-state electrochemistry, focusing on materials and components for fuel cells and electrolysers.
- Perform electrochemical characterization techniques such as LSV, CV, EIS, and durability testing.
- Assist in the preparation, assembly, and testing of electrochemical cells and devices.
- Support the development and optimization of testing protocols and procedures within the Test Center.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, contributing to reports and publications.
- Collaborate with research teams to correlate material properties with electrochemical performance.
Laboratory & Project Support
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and testing infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support ongoing national and international research projects.
- Contribute to documentation, reporting, and dissemination activities.
- Participate in collaborations with industrial and academic partners.
Minimum Requirements
- PhD (or near completion) in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Background and practical experience in solid-state electrochemistry.
- Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing techniques.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Strong motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and international research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fuel cells, electrolysers, or related energy technologies.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment for electrochemical measurements.
- Experience in data analysis and scientific reporting.
- Participation in research projects (national or international) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of hydrogen technologies or energy systems is a plus.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn Bulgarian (language course provided).
